Circular knitting needles 3.5 mm used for ribbings and 4mm for the rest of the pattern.

Scissors

Tapestry needle to weave the ends.

Abbreviations:

CO: Cast on

CO: Cast off

K: Knit

P: Purl

ST (S): Stitch (es)

SM: Stitch Marker

Gauge:

19 sts and 30 rows = 4″ [10 cm] in
knitting st with 4 mm needles.

S size bust measurement is 34 ” : The finished top has 2 inches of positive ease.

The written instructions are done for S size but with the gauge measurement you can knit for your size.

Written instructions:

With 3.5 mm circular needles, CO 180 sts. While connecting the circle, we will knit the ribbing with K1, P1 sts.

Row 1: K1, P1. Rep in the around. Make sure to place SM for the beginning of the row.

Rows 1-7: K1, P1. Rep in the round.

Row 8- 98: K in the round. ( 14.5 inch from the ribbing)

Divide 2 pieces, front and back (90 sts), opening both armholes. Transfer back piece sts to another needle or waste yarn. We will be working on the front piece first.

Front piece:

Row 99 (front piece-right side): co 5 sts, continue knitting until the end of the row. (left armhole) 85 sts

Row 100 (front piece-wrong side): co 5 sts, continue knitting until the end of the row, co 1 st at the end (right armhole) 79 sts

Row 101 (front piece-right side): co 1 st, continue knitting until the end of the row and co 1 st at the end (left armhole) 77 sts

Row 102 (front piece-wrong side): co 1 st, continue knitting until the end of the row. (right armhole) 76 sts

Row 103 (front piece-right side): K until the end (left armhole)

Row 104 (front piece-wrong side): Co 1 st, continue knitting until the end of the row, co 1 st at the end. (right armhole) 74 sts

Row 105 (front piece-right side): K to the end.

Row 106 (front piece-wrong side): Co 1 st, continue knitting until the end of the row, co 1 st at the end. (right armhole) 72 sts

Row 107 (front piece-right side): K to the end.

Row 108 (front piece-wrong side): Co 1 st, continue knitting until the end of the row, co 1 st at the end. (right armhole) 69 sts

Rows 108- 130: K to the end.

From armhole to starting a neckline shaping about 4 inch (10 cm)

Neckline shaping:

Row 130: Co 7 sts in the middle continue knitting until the end.

Right side of the neck shaping:

Row 131: Turn continue knitting until the last st.

Row 132 (right side): Co 4 sts, k to the end.

Row 133: K to the end.

Row 134: Co 3 sts, k to the end.

Row 135: K to the end.

Row 136: Co 2 sts, k to the end.

Row 137: K to the end.

Row 138: Co 1 sts, k to the end.

Row 139: K to the end.

Row 140: Co 1 sts, k to the end.

Row 141: K to the end.

Row 141- 157: K to the end.

Row 158: co all sts. Weave the ends.

Left side of neck shaping:

Row 131 (right side): K to the end.

Row 132 (wrong side): Turn your work, Co 4 sts, k to the end.

Row 133: K to the end.

Row 134: Turn your work, Co 3 sts, k to the end.

Row 135: K to the end.

Row 136: Co 2 sts, k to the end.

Row 137: K to the end.

Row 138: Co 1 sts, k to the end.

Row 139: K to the end.

Row 140: Co 1 sts, k to the end.

Row 141: K to the end. Row 122: Co 1 sts, k to the end.

Row 141- 157: K to the end.

Row 158: co all sts. Weave the ends.

Hint: For the right side of the neck decreases always on the right side, decreases for the left side of the neck is always on the wrong side.

Back piece is same as front piece but no neckline shaping. Continue knitting after done with the decreases for the armhole.

Connect the shoulder parts with tapestry needle.

Adding the arm piece:

Start picking up sts all along the border of the armhole, keep your sts nice and loose, and spread them out evenly along the edge. Put SM to the beginning of the round. Continue knitting in spiral for 30 rows.

For the ribbing of the arm, after row 30, continue with k, p sts for 7 more rows, co and weave the ends.

For the neckline ribbing: Pick up sts all along the border of the neckline, keep your sts nice and loose, and spread them out evenly along the edge. Continue with k and p sts for 5 rows. CO all sts and weave the ends.
