M = Main colour C = Contrast colour 

4mm needles

Pattern:

Using M, cast on 64sts

Work 10 rows in 2 x 2 rib. Increase one stitch at end of rib (65sts)

Add in C

(do not cut off the first colour, simply carry it loosely up the side and use as required)

11^th Row: Using C, knit across row

12^th Row: Using C, purl across row

13^th Row: Using C, knit across row

14^th Row: Using C, purl across row

15^th Row: Using M, knit across row

16^th Row: Using M, purl across row

Repeat 11^th – 16^th rows once more

23^rd Row: Using C, knit across row

24^th Row: Using C, purl across row

25^th Row: Using C, knit across row

26^th Row: Using C, purl across row

Cut off C

27^th Row: Knit

28^th Row: Purl

Shape the top ~
1^st Row: (K6, K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1 57sts
2^nd, 4^th,6^th,8^th,10^th Rows: Purl
3^rd Row: (K5, K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1 49sts
5^th Row: (K4, K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1 41sts
7^th Row: (K3, K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1 33sts
9^th Row: (K2, K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1 25sts
11^th Row (K1, K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1 17sts
12^th Row ( K2 tog) repeat to last st, k1 9sts
Cut yarn (leaving a long ‘tail’ to use for sewing up), draw the end through all stitches, pull up tightly.
Sew up the seam. Darn away ends.
