Requirements:

1 pair of 3.75mm Needles
1 pair of 4.0mm Needles
1 x 25g Double Knitting Yarn in main colour (in this case black)
1 x 5g Double Knitting Yarn in contrasting colour (in this case hot pink)

K Knit (number after it refers to how many stitches to knit)

P Purl (number after it refers to how many stitches to purl)

To make Main Band:
Using 3.75mm needles and main colour, cast on 9 stitches
Row 1: [K1, P1] repeat to last stitch, K1
Row 2: [K1, P1] repeat to last stitch, K1
Repeat these two rows form pattern, continue working these two rows until work measures 48cm (19 inches) long.
Cast Off in pattern.

To make Bow:
Using 4.0mm needles and contrasting colour, cast on 9 stitches
Row 1: [K1, P1] repeat to last stitch, K1
Row 2: [K1, P1] repeat to last stitch, K1
Repeat these two rows form pattern, continue working these two rows until work measures 10cm (4 inches) long.
Cast Off in pattern.

To make Central Panel:
Using 4.0mm needles and contrasting colour, cast on 4 stitches
Starting with a knit row, work in stocking stitch until work measures 5 cm (2 inches) long.
Cast Off.

To make Up:

Stitch the short ends of the main band together. Wrap the centre panel around the middle of the bow and secure. Arrange the edges of the bow it is evenly dished on both side. (Optionally using a sewing needle and running stitch, run the cast on thread and the cast off thread down the relevant short edges and pull slightly to make the bow “rounder” as shown in the sample). Sew in any loose ends. Attach the bow to the main band slightly off centre.
