To make these flowers I needed...
4 mm knitting needles
5m of yarn
embroidery needle
green felt for the leaves
thread and sewing needle
safety pin optional

Cast on 32 stitches
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Purl
Row 3: Knit
Row 4: Purl
Row 5: Knit 2 together will remain with 16 stitches
Row 6: Knit 2 together will remain with 8 stitches
Row 7: Knit 2 together will remain with 4 stitches
Row 8: Knit 2 together will remain with 2 stitches
Cast off

  1. Thread the end of the yarn that is on outer part of the knitted circle and sew it into the knitting and cut the remaining long piece of the yarn.
  2. Thread the yarn that is in the centre and turn over the knitted circle.
  3. Twist the knitting into a tight curl to form a rose shape and sew it to the outer side back part of the rose that is curled so it will hold in position.
  4. Cut leaves shape in a piece of felt and sew it to the back of the rose. If you want to make a brooch then attach a safety pin to the leaf that is in the back of the rose.
