Materials:

  • Size 5 knitting needles
  • Yarn
  • 2 pieces of ribbon about 15 inches long

Cast on 27 stitches

Row 1: *p 2, k 1, p 1, k 1, * end p 2.

Row 2: k 2, * p 3, k 2, *

Repeat rows 1 and 2 for 1 inches ( 5 rows total) ending with row 1,

Beading row:

K1, yo, K2 tog., across row.

Now change to pattern:

Row 1: P 2, * yon, K 2 tog. through the back loops, K 1, P 2 *,

Row 2: K 2, * yon, K 2 tog. through the back loops, P 1, K 2 *.

Repeat pattern rows 1 and 2 for 4 inches from beginning, ending with row 2.

K 2 tog, k 1, repeat across row.

Cut 10 inch piece of yarn and run thru stitches, pulling up tight, then weave side stitches together.Make 2, weave ribbon in and out the beading row on mittens.
