Knitted Adorable Baby Hat

Materials:

1 3oz skein of Red or Orange (main) and Cream or White (contrast)

1 size 5 and 7 circular knitting needles

1 set size 7 double point needles

1 row counter to mark beg of rows.

10 stitch markers

Using the size 5 needles and red, cast on 100 stitches, join being careful not to twist the stitches.

Rd 1 to 8: K 2, P 2 around. Change to size 7 needles after round 8.

Rd 9 to 11: Knit, drop red after round 11, attach cream.

Rd 12, 14, 16: Knit

Rd 13, 15, 17: Purl

Rd 18: * with red K 2, with cream K 2, repeat from * around.

Rd 19: with cream k 2, with red k 2, repeat from * around.

Rd 20: * with red K 2, with cream K 2, repeat from * around.

Rd 21, 22: with cream knit.

Rd 23 to 25: with red knit.

Rd 26-27: with cream knit.

Rd 28: * with red K 2, with cream K 2, repeat from * around.

Rd 29: with cream k 2, with red k 2, repeat from * around.

Rd 30: * with red K 2, with cream K 2, repeat from * around.

Rd 31, 33, 35: with cream, knit

Rd 32, 34, 36: purl. After round 36 fasten off cream.

Rd 37 -38: with red knit.

Rd 39: * K 10, place marker, repeat from * around.

Rd 40: * knit to 2 stitches before marker, k 2 tog. repeat from * around.

Rd 41- 42: Knit.

Repeat rounds 40 to 42 until you have 6 stitches between markers. Then rounds 40 and 41 until you have 2 stitches between markers, next round, K 2 tog, run needles through remaining stitches, draw up tight, weave in the ends. Fasten off.
