Instructions:
Sizes: Headband circumference = 53 cm; Scarf circumference = 1125 cm.
Materials: A total of 400 g of thick yarn like "Drops Polaris" (100% wool, 36 m/100 g) from Garnstudio: 100 g for the headband, 300 g for the scarf; needles No. 12, needles No. 15.
Gauge: 8 sts and 10 rows of stockinette stitch on needles No. 12 = 10 x 10 cm; 7 sts and 8 rows of stockinette stitch on needles No. 15 = 10 x 10 cm.
Cable Patterns:
Knit according to chart 1 for the headband and chart 2 for the scarf. The patterns are shown from the right side.
Joining Yarn: Before attaching yarn from another skein, split the end of the old yarn into two parts over a 15 cm length and cut off one part. Do the same with the new yarn. Then connect both remaining strands at the ends and twist them together as in the main part of the yarn. Continue knitting—the joining point will not be too thick.
Work process:
Headband: Knit one long piece back and forth in rows, then sew the ends together. Cast on 12 sts on needles No. 12. Knit according to chart 1 until the length reaches 50 cm, finishing with a complete pattern repeat. Knit 1 row of stockinette stitch, then bind off the stitches loosely. Sew the short sides together, edge to edge.
Infinity Scarf: Knit one long piece back and forth in rows, then sew the ends together. Cast on 15 sts on needles No. 15. Knit according to chart 2 until the length reaches 120 cm, finishing with a complete pattern repeat. Knit 4 rows of stockinette stitch, then bind off the stitches loosely. Fold the scarf in half, in a "figure eight," before wearing it.
