Introducing the Knitted Joan Moss Stitch Scarf, a stylish and cozy accessory that will keep you warm during the chilly winter months. Crafted with love and attention to detail, this scarf is a true testament to the art of knitting. The moss stitch pattern adds a touch of texture and sophistication, making it a versatile piece that can be worn with any outfit. Meticulously knitted with the finest yarn, this scarf boasts a unique moss stitch pattern that sets it apart from the rest. The intricate design not only adds visual interest but also enhances the scarf's ability to trap warmth, ensuring that you stay snug and stylish all day long. Whether you're heading out for a casual stroll or attending a formal event, this scarf is the perfect accessory to elevate your look and make a fashion statement.

Requirements:

1 pair of 6mm Needles
300g Aran Wool. This scarf in knitted with double thickness Aran wool, so the wool either needs to be divided into 2 balls or you will need to knit from each end of the ball simultaneously.
6mm Crochet hook

Pattern:

To make scarf:
Using 6mm needles, and two strands of Aran yarn, cast on 30 stitches
Row 1 [K1, P1] repeat to end
Row 2 [P1, K1] repeat to end
These two rows form the moss stitch pattern, continue working these two rows until work measures 120cm long.
Cast Off in pattern.

To make Up:
Secure the ends of the wool. Using a 6mm crochet hook and a single strand of Aran yarn, create a slip knot and attach it to the bottom of the scarf with a single crochet stitch, create 4 chains and again secure to the work approximately 2.5cm from previous attachment. Continue to end of work. (10 loops along bottom of scarf). Repeat on opposite side of scarf.
Make 10 tassels of approximately 10cm in length and attach onto the loops. For this scarf I used the short side of a DVD box to prepare the tassels and wrapped the wool around the box 12 times for each tassel. Secure firmly to the crocheted loops. For further details on preparing tassels click here.

Hints & Tips:

Care must be taken when knitting this scarf to ensure that both strands of yarn are wrapped around the needle and removed from the needle for each stitch. Accidentally missing a thread of yarn and knitting it separately will cause the pattern to go wrong and may increase the number of stitches on the needles.
