Repeat these two rows
Drop Stitch Pattern Stitch
Row 1 (RS): k1, *yo, k1; rep between *, end k1)
Row 2 (WS): Knit, dropping all the yo sts off left needle
Rows 3, 5, 7: Purl
Rows 4, 6, 8: Knit
Instructions
Color Changes: Complete 8 rows of Drop Stitch Pattern Stitch with Color A, then Color B, then MC. Repeat throughout sweater.
Back With MC and larger needles, CO 64 (70, 78, 86) sts.
Work in Seed St for 1.5 (1.5, 1.5, 2) inches.
Work 6 rows of Rev St st (purl side RS), beginning with a p row. Beg Drop Stitch Pattern Stitch with Color A.Cont to work in Drop Stitch Pattern Stitch and cycle through all 3 colors until piece meas 12.5 (13, 14, 15.5) inches. Place underarm markers.Cont until piece meas approx 21.5 (22, 23.5, 25.5) inches.
End with row 8 of completed. BO 64 (70, 78, 86) sts across back as if to purl.
Front
Work as for Back. When piece meas 19.25 (20, 21.5, 22.75) inches (with row 8 of Drop Stitch Pattern Stitch completed) beg neck shaping.
Neck Shaping
Cont in pat as est, work 17 (19, 22, 25) sts, place center 30 (32, 34, 36) sts on holder, attach another ball of yarn. Complete row over rem 17 (19, 22, 25) sts. Working both sides at once, work WS even. Dec 1 st at each neck edge, every other row 4 (4, 4, 6) times on RS rows.
Cont in pat as est until piece measures same as Back.
BO 13 (15, 18, 19) sts across each shoulder as if to purl.
Sleeves
CO 34 (34, 36, 36) sts. Work Seed St for 1 inch. Work in pat as for front and back. Beginning with a purl row, work 6 rows in Rev St st. Begin increases.
Sleeve Increases
Inc 1 st on each end on every RS row EXCEPT Row 1 of Drop Stitch Pattern Stitch.
Cont in pat as est until you have 68 (70, 74, 78) sts.
Cont one more repeat of Drop Stitch Pattern Stitch without increasing. Sleeve should measure approx 12.5 (13, 14, 15) inches from beg.
BO as if to purl.
Finishing
Seam shoulders. Sew sleeves to body between markers. Sew seam for sleeves and sides.
Roll Neck Collar
With MC and circular needles and RS facing, pick up 11 (11, 11, 15) sts from right neck edge, 30 (32, 34, 36) front neck sts, 11 (11, 11, 15) sts from left neck edge, 38 (40, 42, 48) back neck sts, place marker, join. [90 (94, 98, 114) sts]
Work in the round, knitting every round until neckband measures 4 inches.
BO loosely.
