Work execution
Start with the earflaps. Cast on 5 stitches and knit in the striped pattern. For the side slope, increase 2 stitches on each side after 3 rows = 9 stitches, and in every 4th row - 7 x 1 stitch = 23 stitches. After 34 rows, set all stitches aside. Knit the second earflap the same way. Cast on 9 stitches with brown yarn, include 23 stitches of one earflap, cast on 39 stitches, include 23 stitches of the second earflap, and cast on 10 stitches = 104 stitches.
Knit in stockinette stitch in the round as follows: 7 rows with brown yarn, 4 rows with blue yarn, 8 rows of the Norwegian pattern, 4 rows with blue yarn, 12 rows with brown melange yarn, 16 rows with blue yarn, 46 rows of the striped pattern. After 11 cm (30 rows), evenly decrease 13 stitches, and in every 7th row - 2 more times by 13 stitches = 65 stitches. Decrease another 2 x 13 stitches in every 3rd row = 39 stitches, then in every 8th row - 1 x 9 and 4 x 6 stitches. After 97 rows, draw the remaining stitches together with the working yarn.
Edge with 1 row of single crochet and 1 row of crab stitch with brown yarn. Braid two thick plaits of 19 cm length from brown yarn, folding 11 strands. Also, braid one plait of 37 cm length from 16 strands. Make 3 thick tassels. Attach the plaits and tassels to the hat.
