Knitting instructions:

Sizes: 34/35 (38/39 - 40/41)

Materials

  • Yarn Schachenmayr "Regia Angora Merino" (65% wool, 25% polyamide, 10% angora, 100 m/50 g): approx. 200 g of lilac color No. 07079.
  • Sock knitting needles Prym No. 2.5.

Ribbing: alternate knitting 2 knit, 2 purl.

Lace pattern: knit 12 stitches according to the pattern. Repeat rounds 1-8 continuously.

Double stitch: after turning at the start of the row, place the yarn in front of the work, insert the needle from the right into the 1st stitch, slip the stitch and the yarn together. Then pull the yarn back tightly. This causes the stitch on the needle to tighten and become a double stitch. In the next row, knit both parts of the double stitch together according to the pattern, either knit or purl.

Knitting gauge: 31 stitches and 42 rounds in stockinette stitch with No. 2.5 needles = 10 x 10 cm.

Upper: cast on 88 (96-104) stitches, evenly distribute them on 4 double-pointed needles = 22 (24-26) stitches on each needle and join in the round, marking the beginning of the round. Knit the ribbing for 4.5 cm = 17 rounds. Then continue in stockinette stitch, but on the middle 12 stitches of the 2nd needle, work the lace pattern. After 18 (18-20) cm = 76 (76-84) rounds from the ribbing, mark for decreases the middle 10 stitches on the 4th needle. In the next round, before the marker, knit 2 stitches together as knit, and after the marker, knit 2 stitches together as knit with a left slant (= slip 1 stitch as if to knit, knit the next stitch, and pass the slipped stitch over). Repeat these decreases 4 times every 8th round, 5 times every 6th round, and 6 (8-10) times every 4th round = 56 (60-64) stitches.

Again, evenly distribute stitches on 4 needles, placing the 12 stitches of the lace pattern on one needle = 14 (15-16) stitches on each needle. After 12.5 cm = 53 rounds from the last decrease or 51.5 (53.5-57) cm = 216 (224-240) rounds from the ribbing - the lace pattern is repeated 27 (28-30) times - distribute the stitches on 4 needles as follows: the last 8 (9-10) stitches before the lace pattern + the first 6 stitches of the lace pattern on the first needle, the last 6 stitches of the lace pattern + the next 8 (9-10) stitches on the second needle, the next 14 (15-16) stitches on the third and the remaining 14 (15-16) stitches on the fourth needle; mark the start of the round between the fourth and the first needle. Knit another round in stockinette stitch on all stitches up to the start marker. After that, the upper part is completed. The height of the work from the cast-on edge = approx. 56 (58-61.5) cm.

Boomerang Heel: for the first half of the heel, knit on 28 (30-32) stitches of the first and fourth needles in straight rows. 1st row = knit, knit the stitches of the first needle, turn. 2nd row = purl row: work a double stitch, purl the remaining stitches of the first needle and all stitches of the fourth needle, turn. 3rd row: work a double stitch, knit the stitches of the fourth and first needles to the double stitch at the end, leave the double stitch unworked, turn. 4th row: work a double stitch, purl to the double stitch at the end, turn. Repeat the 3rd and 4th rows until there are 10 (10-12) stitches between the double stitches, in the last row after the double stitch, knit the stitches of the fourth needle only to the middle/beginning of the row. Then knit 2 rounds in stockinette stitch on all stitches, knitting both parts of the double stitches together in the first round.

For the second half of the heel, again knit in straight rows. 1st row: knit 6 (6-7) stitches of the first needle, turn. 2nd row: work a double stitch, purl the stitches of the first needle and 6 (6-7) stitches of the fourth needle, turn. 3rd row: work a double stitch, knit the stitches to the double stitch, knit the double stitch together as knit, then knit the next stitch, turn. 4th row: work a double stitch, purl the stitches to the double stitch, purl the double stitch together as purl, then purl the next stitch, turn. Repeat the 3rd and 4th rows until all the stitches of the first and fourth needles are worked. Then turn once more, work a double stitch and knit the remaining stitches of the fourth needle to the middle/beginning of the row in knit.

Foot and Toe: Continue knitting in stockinette stitch in the round, in the first round, knit both last double stitches of the heel together as knit. When the foot length reaches 17.5 (20-21) cm, start the toe decreases, beginning from the middle of the foot: on the 1st and 3rd needles, knit together the 2nd and 3rd stitches from the end as knit, and on the 2nd and 4th needles, knit together the 2nd and 3rd stitches with a left slant. Repeat these decreases once in the next 4th round, twice in each 3rd round, three times in each 2nd round, and 5 (6-7) times in each round. Tighten the remaining 8 stitches firmly with the working yarn. The total length of the foot = approx. 22 (25-26.5) cm.

2nd sock: Knit as the first sock, but at the end of the upper part - after the lace pattern has been repeated 27 (28-30) times - distribute the stitches on 4 needles as follows: the last 8 (9-10) stitches before the lace pattern + the first 6 stitches of the lace pattern on the third needle, the last 6 stitches of the lace pattern + the next 8 (9-10) stitches on the fourth needle, the next 14 (15-16) stitches on the first needle, and the remaining 14 (15-16) stitches on the second needle; mark the beginning of the round between the fourth and the first needle. Knit another round in stockinette stitch on all stitches up to the start marker. After this, the upper part is finished. Shape the foot and toe as on the first sock.
