  • "Lace" yarn (100% mercerized cotton, 280 m/50 g) - 30 g each of beige and green colors
  • Needles No. 2
  • A large button

Work description:

Knit with the yarn held triple.

Rose: With beige yarn, cast on 4 stitches and knit in stockinette stitch.

1st row: increase by 4 stitches.

Rows 2 - 8: stockinette stitch.

9th row: decrease by 4 stitches.

10th row: purl. Repeat from the 1st to the 10th row 4 times. You will have three petals.

Knit the next three petals as the first ones, but knit stockinette stitch for ten rows instead of eight. Knit the next four petals as the first ones, but knit stockinette stitch for 18 rows. Twist the resulting strip into a spiral and sew together on the wrong side.

Leaf: With green yarn, cast on 7 stitches and knit in stockinette stitch. Rows 1 - 8: increase by 3 stitches in the middle stitch of every knit row. Continuing in stockinette stitch, decrease 1 stitch at both the beginning and end of every knit row. When 2 stitches remain, bind them off. Knit a second leaf similarly. Attach the leaves to the flower.

Assembly: With green yarn, cast on 8 stitches and knit a garter stitch strip of the desired length. Attach the flower and the button to it.
