Instructions:

Sizes: 36/38 (40/42)

You will need: yarn (76% cotton, 14% metallic fibers, 10% polyamide; 135 m/50 g) - 200 (250) g of green melange; knitting needles No. 5.

Knitting Patterns for Women’s Lace Top

Pattern 1: Wave pattern (number of stitches is a multiple of 13 + 1 + 2 edge stitches). Knit according to the chart. The chart shows the right-side rows and 1 wrong-side row. In the wrong-side rows not shown on the chart, purl all stitches and yarn overs. Start with 1 edge stitch, repeat the pattern repeat, end with the stitch after the pattern repeat and 1 edge stitch. Repeat rows 1-8 continuously.

Pattern 2: Patent edge (over 3 sts). In right-side rows: 1 knit, slip 1 stitch purlwise with yarn in front, 1 knit. In wrong-side rows: slip 1 stitch purlwise with yarn in front, 1 knit, slip 1 stitch purlwise with yarn in front.

Pattern 3: Stockinette stitch. Right-side rows - knit stitches, wrong-side rows - purl stitches.

Knitting gauge: Pattern 1 - 15 sts x 18.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm; Pattern 3 - 20 sts x 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm; strap width: 5 cm.

Note: The decreases in the last wrong-side row of the front and back are not included in the schematic because the reserved stitches stretch due to the seamless strap edges.

Instructions for Knitting a Women’s Lace Top

Back: Cast on 81 (94) sts using a cross-knit cast-on method (see p. 31) and knit in Pattern 1.

After 29.5 cm = 55 rows (34 cm = 63 rows) from the starting row (= after the 7th row of the chart), evenly decrease 27 (34) sts in the next wrong-side row = 54 (60) sts.

After 30 cm = 56 rows (34.5 cm = 64 rows) from the starting row, reserve all stitches.

Front: Knit as for the back.

Assembly: We recommend placing a marker in the middle of the work on the front and back (= at 27 or 30 sts, respectively).

For the left strap edge of the front, cast on 14 sts on the needles and, starting from the 1st right-side row, knit as follows: 3 sts in Pattern 2, 10 sts in Pattern 3, then knit the last stitch together with the 1st reserved stitch of the left front with a left slant (= slip 1 stitch knitwise, knit 1, then pass the slipped stitch over).

In the next wrong-side row, knit 11 purl and 3 sts in Pattern 2. Repeat these 2 rows 26 more times, continuously incorporating the next reserved stitch of the front.

After 21.5 cm = 54 rows (24 cm = 60 rows) from the starting row, the first 27 (30) reserved stitches of the front will be used up. Then continue the strap in Pattern 3 between the 3 sts of Pattern 2 on both sides.

After 41 cm = 102 rows (45 cm = 112 rows) from the start of knitting the strap (or after fitting), continue the strap edge for the back similarly to the front strap edge, starting from the 1st stitch after the back marker, i.e., knit on the left side of the back.

After 21.5 cm = 54 rows (24 cm = 60 rows) from the starting row, the 27 (30) reserved stitches will be used up. Then bind off all stitches.

Knit the strap edges for the right side of the front and back similarly, starting from the 1st stitch of the back. Knit the strap over the 1st strap so that the beginning and end of the strap are crossed.

Sew the side seams, including the ends of the strap edges. Secure the straps with a few stitches at the crossing points.
