YOU WILL NEED

In The Woolshed Blue Faced Leicester hand dyed 4 ply 100% wool (approx 385m per 110g)

1 x 110g skein in Cochineal

1 pair of 3.5mm needles

Note: Yarn amounts given are based on average requirements and are approximate

TENSION

14 sts and 26 rows to 10cm (4in) over pattern using 3.5mm needles

Use larger or smaller needles if necessary to obtain correct tension.

ABBREVIATIONS

brk1 = Brioche Knit 1 - with yarn to the front of the work, knit the next stitch and yon together.

PATTERN NOTES

Always make sure that yarn is at the front of the work when working brk1.

SNOOD

Using 3.5mm needles, cast on 37 sts loosely.

Set up Row 1 (WS): K2, purl to last 2 sts, k1, yfwd, slip last st purlwise.

Set up Row 2: K2, *p1, yon, k2tog; rep from * to last 2 sts, k1, yfwd, slip last st purlwise.

Row 1: K2, *p1, yon, brk1; rep from * to last 2 sts, k1, yfwd, slip last st purlwise.

Rep last row until work measures 126cm (49.75in), ending on a WS row.

Cast off in pattern, but do not bring the yarn forward before working brkl.

TO FINISH OFF

Block gently and then join cast-on to cast-off seam using slip stitch.
