Instructions
Base
With straight needles (or knit back and forth on double points), CO 12 sts.
Work St st 2 rows.
Inc 1 st in from end each end every other row 3 times.
Work St st 2 rows.
Dec 1 st in from end each end every other row 3 times (K1, ssk, k to last 3 sts, k2tog, k1)

Body
Knit 1 row on to double points or knit 1 more row if already knitting with double points. With RS facing, pick up 15 sts along row edge, 12 sts along CO edge, 15 sts along other row edge (12/15/12/15). Join and mark beg of round.
K 6 rnds.
Inc: *k8, k into front and back of next st; rep from * (13/17/13/17)
K 6 rnds.
Inc: *k5, k into front and back of next st; rep from * (15/20/15/20)
K 8 rnds.
Inc: *k6, k into front and back of next st; rep from * (17/23/17/23)
K 12 rnds.
Eyelet Rnd: *k6, yo twice, k2tog; rep from *

Handles (Make 2)
With crochet hook, chain 24" or desired length. You could also CO 2 sts and knit I-Cord, braid yarn together, or knit 2 or 3 sts in garter st until desired length.

Finishing
Tie a knot in handle and use tail to sew to the inside of the bag. Weave in and out of openings half way across. Repeat for the other handle starting at the point you left off for the first handle. Tie handles together in a knot at ends.
