Knitted Drawstring Bag

The Knitted Drawstring Bag is a charming and practical accessory for any occasion! The soft, chunky yarn gives it a rustic charm, while the drawstring closure allows you to adjust the size to fit your needs. Materials:
About 300 yards worsted weight yarn
Size 8 US knitting needles or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge:
20 sts=4"Size:
10" long and 11" wide

Instructions

CO 113 sts.
Knit in garter st for 3". Knit in St st for 3". Knit in garter st for 3".Continuing in garter st, k6, BO 4 sts (k10, BO 4 sts) 7 times, k6.Next row: Continuing in garter st, CO 4 sts (use the Cable Cast On) over the BO sts.Knit in garter st one additional inch. BO.Fold in half. Seam bottom and side. Weave in ends on WS.

Handles (Make 2)
CO 3 sts and knit I-Cord for 20" or desired length. You could also braid yarn together, crochet a chain, or knit 3 sts in garter st until 20" in length.

Finishing
Sew one handle to the inside of the bag beginning at the side seam. Weave in and out of openings half way across. Repeat for the other handle starting at the point you left off for the first handle. Tie handles together in a knot at ends.
