Requirements:
1 pair of 3.5mm Needles
1 x 4mm Crochet Hook
1 x 50g Cotton Double Knitting Yarn in Main colour (in this case red)
1 x 10g Cotton Double Knitting Yarn in Contrasting colour (in this case blue)

Abbreviation and Meaning
sts Stitches
[ ] All details enclosed in [ ] should be repeated as specified
K Knit (number after it refers to how many stitches to knit)
P Purl (number after it refers to how many stitches to purl)
K2tog Knit next two stitches together (decreasing a stitch)
FWO Yarn forward over needle (bring the yarn forward over the top of the needle making a loop on the needle - increasing a stitch)
To Make Bag (2 alike):
Using 3.5mm needles and main colour, cast on 45 stitches
Row 1: [K1, P1] repeat to last stitch, K1
Row 2: [K1, P1] repeat to last stitch, K1
Repeat these two rows form pattern, continue working these two rows until work measures 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) long, ending on a wrong side row (row 2).
Next row: K1, [YFO, K2 tog] repeat to end (45 sts)
Work rows 1 and 2 twice more.
Change to contrasting colour.
Cast off in knit.
To Make Cord:
Using the contrasting thread and a 4 mm crochet hook, prepare a string using chain stitch which is a minimum of 40cm (16 inches) in length (longer if required) to tie the bag shut when not in use.
To Make Up:
With right sides facing join up the sides and bottom of the bag taking care to ensure that the holes at the top of the bag are aligned . Thread the cord through the holes in the top of the bag. Knot the string on the inside of the bag and feed the excess cord through to the sides of the bag to hang down until required.
