  • Circumference of the cowl: approximately 70 cm

Materials Required:

  • Yarn (80% wool, 20% nylon; 50 g/210 m) — 4 skeins in ivory color
  • Circular needles No. 2.5 and No. 3 (60 cm long)
  • Double-pointed needles No. 2 and No. 2.5

Increase 1 stitch:

Lift the strand between two stitches with the right needle and knit it through the back loop in the next row.

Cross 3 stitches to the right:

Leave 1 stitch on a cable needle behind the work, knit the next 2 stitches (knit or purl according to the pattern), then knit 1 stitch from the cable needle (knit or purl according to the pattern).

Cross 3 stitches to the left:

Leave 1 stitch on a cable needle in front of the work, knit the next 2 stitches (knit or purl according to the pattern), then knit 1 stitch from the cable needle (knit or purl according to the pattern).

Gauge:

  • 30 stitches x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm, knitted in stockinette stitch with needles No. 3 (for the cowl).

Knitting Instructions for the Cowl

  1. Cast on 306 stitches using circular needles No. 2.5 and knit 4 rounds in stockinette stitch.
  2. Knit an eyelet row for the fold: * yarn over, knit 2 stitches together through the back loop *, repeat from * to *.
  3. Knit another 4 rounds in stockinette stitch, switch to circular needles No. 3, and continue knitting following the provided pattern chart.
  4. After 52 cm, finish the pattern as indicated.
