Size: To fit 52 - 56 cm/20 1/2" - 22 1/4" head circumference

Materials: Lanecardate "Feltrone" (75% Merino wool, 25% angora, approx. 47 m/100 g): 100 g in Nero and Lanecardate "Lana Cotta" (100% pure wool fabric): 25 x 40 cm(10 x 16" in 60 Nero; size 12 mm Addi needles, size 10 mm crochet hook.

Shaker rib pattern:

Row 1 (RS): Selvedge st, * yo, sl 1 as if to purl, p1; rep from * to last st, selvedge st.

Row 2 (WS): Selvedge st, * k1, p2tog next st and yo; rep from * to last st, selvedge st. Repeat rows 1 + 2 throughout.

Tension: 6 sts and 16 rows = 10 x 10 cm/4" x 4" in shaker rib pat.

Instructions: Cast on 12 sts and work in shaker rib pat until piece measures 38 cm/15" = 60 rows from cast-on. Bind off all sts. With crochet hook, work 1 sc into each bound-off st, ch 3, work 1 sc into each cast-on st. This joins the 2 edges at the top. Cut yarn and fasten off.

Finishing: Wash fabric and let dry. Cut fabric according to schematic. Sew 17 cm/6 3/4" long side edges to cast-on and bound-off edges of knitted piece. Sew round part to upper long edge of knitted piece, easing to fit.
